A Historic and Joyful Milestone at Holy Spirit Church

On September 13, 2026, the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church community in Scarborough gathered to celebrate its 70th anniversary with a beautiful Mass. The parish community was deeply blessed to welcome His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo as the principal celebrant for this landmark platinum jubilee liturgy. His Eminence’s presence and inspiring words filled the packed church with a profound spirit of gratitude, honoring seven decades of faith, devotion and vibrant fellowship in the community.

 

Following the sacred liturgy, parishioners headed down to the parish basement for a social gathering and meet-and-greet. Attendees enjoyed a delicious spread of sandwiches, refreshments, and celebratory cake in a hall alive with laughter and community spirit. The highlight of the afternoon for many was the unique opportunity to personally meet His Eminence, who graciously spent time connecting with the community and posing for personal photos on parishioners' phones, creating cherished keepsakes of this historic day.
